HORSE RIDING CAMP

Beginner Riding Camp
Our riding camp is for riders from the ages 7 to 13. Riders will be matched up with a horse for the week and will learn all responsibilities of care for that horse. Lessons include learning to approach a horse, lead, halter and unhalter, how to properly groom a horse, parts of the horse, and learning different equipment needed to ride a horse. Riding lessons will teach the rider to mount/dismount, walk, halt, and some trotting. There will be a maximum of 12 campers per week and a minimum or 6. There will be 3 instructors so there will be a lot of individual attention.

The time is from 10:00am till 2:00pm. Please check back in the Spring for 2010 dates. The cost for camp is $220.00. We need to receive a deposit of $100.00 to hold a spot. You may either do this with a check or call us with a credit card number.

The rider will need to wear long pants and shoes with heels. If your child has her/his own bike helmet you are welcome to use it since it is already fitted, otherwise we will provide a helmet. Drinks and snacks are provided. Please pack a lunch.

The camp is intended to teach each rider responsibility of having a horse. This will be our 12th year of camp and every year has been a great time, we even have riders return year after year. It will be very educational and a lot of fun!

Intermediate Riding Camp
This camp is intended for riders who have attended our beginner riding camp in the past or a rider who has some basic knowledge about riding. The camp will cover basic introduction to walk trot showing, English and western including some trail.

Monday through Friday from 8am till 12 noon

Cost: $230.00

Riders must have some basic training.
We will be having a mini-show with this level.

Dates: Check back in the Spring for 2010 dates.

Advanced Riding Camp
Walk/trot/canter English, cross rails, western (contesting and trail). The goal of this camp is to encourage the riders to show.
Monday through Friday from 8am till 12 noon

Cost: $250.00

Riders must be comfortable with walk, trot and canter. This riders at this level will be showing at Buchanan Westerners.
